This fragile mind

This fragile mind was meant for only one end.
See, this fragile mind, it was meant to bend.

Though it's so very easy to snap and shatter
Particularly for thoughts that matter
It must stand strong, must persevere
For every thought it minds to hear

You can talk of fractures, talk of a tear
A raptured mind will withstand any wear
Brains? They fold. They envelope all info anew
If given something bad it'll absorb that too

It can't discriminate, there's no auto-filter
Removing that which will knock you off kilter
To embrace life, whatever trouble it may throw
Is the only way any fragile mind will grow

This fragile mind may have been through the worst
Want to shut itself out, feel though it was cursed
But this fragile mind will absorb that emptiness
Until it's filled with nothing, and then nothingness

Fill it with wonder. Fill it with joy.
Come out to the world. Don't be coy.
Take small steps. The danger's not fake.
For growth to occur, there's a chance it'll break.

If you can get over the fear - and that's a big 'if', it's true
Then this fragile mind has some growing to do
