Labels

Y'know. For a population so diverse, so varied, so fantastic. We use a lot of labels.
Wherever we go, with whomever we converse, we like to keep our reality stable.
We make matches, avoid mixes, we categorise people's personalities with care
And it catches, because the trick is, it simplifies humanity so we can socially prepare

This world is confusing so we strive to be the first to make sense of it all
It's mostly amusing, to be alive is to thirst to try to enthrall
To capture imaginations and a heart's fraction of anyone we happen to meet
Without hesitation engage in the art of interaction when we greet

We want to be outstanding to be more than just a member of the crowd
We're demanding that we be dismembered from another vox populi, if we're allowed
We want to be special. To be unique. To be essentially ourselves.
Yet we make all the others seem freaks if into individuality they delve

The first trick into letting others see you not just as another stereotype
Is to slip into the habit of never just painting pictures of people with the same stripes
Create a picture of the world which is fantastic in the range of colour and shade
The structure that'll unfold will spring elastic into new shapes, and leave you permanently amazed.
